How we verify
A directory of faith attributes is only worth anything if its answers can be checked. This page is the whole method, so you can judge any scorecard on the site against it.
The seven attributes
Every stay is checked on the same seven: halal food, alcohol policy, women-only pool and spa, burkini policy, prayer facilities, seclusion level, and private pools. The order never changes, so two stays can be compared row by row.
Sources, in the order we trust them
- The hotel's own published statements. Concept pages, fact sheets and FAQs, read in English and Turkish. A policy the hotel publishes is a claim the hotel can be held to.
- HalalBooking's classification. Structured per-attribute data on its listing pages. We record it as a classification, not as the hotel's own words.
- Guest reports. Reviews are read as signals. A value needs two or more independent guest reports to count as guest confirmed. Review text, including anything from TripAdvisor, is never republished here.
An automated checker drafts each value and a verification pass scores the evidence behind it. Weakly supported values are downgraded or flagged for re-check; the tier on the row shows the outcome.
The tiers you see on a scorecard
- Confirmed by hotel: the hotel's own published statement says it.
- HalalBooking classification: HalalBooking's structured listing records it.
- Guest confirmed: two or more independent guest reports support it.
- Reported, needs re-check: a single report mentions it. Treat it as a lead, not a fact.
- Not yet confirmed: no source we checked states it. Shown at the same size as a yes, because a hidden blank reads as a promise.
Dates
Every row carries the month it was checked. The date at the top of a scorecard is the oldest of its seven rows, never the newest. A date only moves when a source is actually re-read; we never refresh a date to look current.
What we never do
- We never infer one attribute from another. Halal food does not imply alcohol-free; alcohol-free does not imply halal.
- We never copy a "Muslim-friendly" label from a booking site and present it as data.
- We never publish a claim we cannot point to a source for. Where sources conflict, the row would say so; in the current Antalya check, no row carries two conflicting publishable sources.
- We never claim a personal stay we did not make.
Corrections
Attributes change: pool policies move, certifications lapse, resorts change hands. If something here is wrong or out of date, use the Report an update link on the stay page. Reports enter as "reported, pending re-verification" and are never published as fact before a re-check. We aim to acknowledge reports within 2 business days. Accepted corrections appear in the corrections log with the old value, the new value, and how the change was found.
Re-checks
Each destination is re-verified on a rolling sweep, and any stay with a report against it is re-checked out of turn. The Antalya dataset behind this site was checked in Oct 2026.
