How we rank

The default order on a destination page is called Best match. It is defined here, in public, so it can be checked:

  1. How completely a stay's attributes match the filters you set, must-haves first.
  2. How many of the seven attributes are confirmed or stated.
  3. How recently the stay was checked.

What never affects ranking

No advertiser, affiliate rate, booking commission, or commercial relationship of any kind can change a stay's order, its attribute values, or whether it is included. We earn a commission when you book through links on this site; that income is the same whichever stay you choose within a partner, and our ordering code never reads a commercial field.

Stays are included because they sit in a destination we cover and we could check them, including stays whose scorecards are mostly unconfirmed. A stay with gaps is shown with its gaps, not buried.

There is no overall score

We do not publish a single "halal score" for a stay. A composite hides exactly the trade-offs you are deciding about: you may accept alcohol in a restaurant and refuse a mixed pool. The seven rows are the ranking that matters, and they stay separate.
